I read this article, shared by an elementary teacher friend, and was blown away by the simplicity of its message.  We can go on and on about technology, differentiation, blah blah blah, but it isn't what's at the heart of being a great teacher.

  1. I was definitely blown away when I read Glennon's book. Laura and I talk a lot about her word 'Brutiful.' She has a way of distilling complexity and bringing out important attributes just as she saw in the strategies of the math teacher. The article also reminds me about our goal to instill resilience in our students, something not necessarily connected to content but similar to the learning of bravery.

  2. What a great article. Thanks for sharing! I especially liked the comment about learning the "new long division" after many parents sharing the same complaint :) I like the simplicity of the sheets and the wealth of information it provides.
